Inspection of overhead lines using robotic diagnostic systems,

Description

The use of a robotic diagnostic system for performing magnetic, visual, thermal imaging, laser and stereo/video scanning of overhead lines allow users to:

  • perform automatic diagnostics of overhead line components and of the exclusion zone parameters remotely;
  • collect accurate information to plan repairs;
  • avoid fatal accidents at work and significantly reduce risk to health;
  • take the responsibility off the personnel for diagnosis and preparation of reports, and to meet all requirements of supervisory authorities.

The diagnostic complex can be used in the following activities:

  1. digital surveying;
  2. digital design;
  3. digital field supervision and building inspection;
  4. digital monitoring of the condition of overhead line components;
  5. digitalisation of power grid facilities;
  6. automated risk assessment of emergency events;
  7. robotic repair of minor damage to wires and cables;
  8. automatic generation of defective reports;
  9. analysis of the state of overhead line components to identify energy loss.

High diagnostic accuracy and quality of service is ensured through full access to any component of the overhead line and the ability to easily move along the wire.
