Icing monitoring "SK-21"

Description

The system is designed for continuous automatic monitoring of the condition of overhead lines transmitting data, processing and visualising at the dispatcher's workplace, and generating reports and recommendations for steps to be taken by the service personnel.

The system is a solution aimed at digitalising the grid.

The system enables:

  • monitoring of ice formation on the wires (the ground wire) in overhead power lines;
  • monitoring of the meteorological situation in the area where the overhead line is located;
  • control of melting of glaze-ice and rime deposition;
  • accumulation of statistical data.

The system performs the following tasks:

  • measuring the temperature of phase conductors and ground wires;
  • measuring the weight of phase conductors and ground wires;
  • measuring the air temperature and humidity, wind direction and velocity, atmospheric pressure, level of illumination in all four compass points, intensity and type of precipitation;
  • calculating when ice formation will occur;
  • transferring, saving and visualising data;
  • creating reports and recommendations for steps to be taken by the service personnel.

The system enables the user to quickly obtain data on the ice situation in the subject area and reduce the time and cost of anti-icing measures.

The system equipment is designed for installation on overhead lines up to 500 kV inclusive. The Rosseti, PJSC Regulations for the Uniform Technical Policy recommend using various systems for monitoring the temperature of conductors, the formation and development of ice by data transfer, and the integration into the process control system.
